As a general rule when I do puzzles I put together the outside first. Another easy part to do is a skyline if there is one in the picture. This puzzle had a clear division between the flowers and the sky, which was pretty easy to put together. Then, since there wasn’t a lot of sky, I was able to fill it in first. The flowers were a lot harder.

Looks like it was a pretty one. No holes this time?

It took a while but looked nice. No holes/missing pieces!

When my mom would do puzzles, she ALWAYS separated the edge pieces into a pile and would then assemble the frame. It made total sense to me, as it gave a framework from within which to work.
My sister on the other hand would just put things together based on the picture on the front of the box and then figure out how to connect them after 😀
I on the other hand, being the superior specimen of humanity, didn’t do puzzles at all, hahahahahaha!

Your mom had it right. At least for doing puzzles. I guess the jury’s still out on raising you . . .

Yeah, I figure THAT part of things will have to wait another 200 years when history can judge me.
But I plan on still being around to shape history, so it had better GET IT RIGHT! (that’s for the time travelers who are judging me, right now. Because I know they are there)

What if it’s Bookstooge 3000 judging you? He might be pretty harsh.

Oh, he will be harsh. Just like I’m harsh on 22 year old me 🙂

I think I’d shrug at 22-year-old me. Sure he should have done a lot of things differently. But that’s who he was.

Alexbot 3000 just bitch slapped you for that comment. But don’t you worry because Botstooge 4.0 just nuked Alexbot3K.

By the fifth millennium everyone realized there were some real glitches with the Alex3K. They tried patches before deciding they needed to do a total reboot of the system.

Is that when you became the Cylons and wiped out Skynet?

Unless you count slot car race tracks, I rarely built those things where you knew what it was going to look like (puzzles, models). I did sometimes appreciate the finished products though when family members would build them. That’s fun with no patience required!

I remember those race tracks. With the pistol grips. Cars always flipped out of the tracks.

Well sure if you squeezed the trigger all the way and tried to floor it around the curves. : -)

7-year-old me did things like that.

I had to google that. Is it Scalextric? That seems to be the UK brand now but don’t know if it was Skelextric back in the day.
If you held on to your cars they might be worth a bit of money today!

Yes Scalextric not Skel. Typing finger malfunction.

Mrs. B is the puzzler between the two of us. She grew up putting puzzles together on a regular basis, and kept at it for a while after we met. I always appreciated the patience she had with them, a patience I did not share…and the puzzle pieces certainly appreciated my not being involved trying to wedge them together inaccurately.

I did them more when I was a kid. But a few years ago I spent a lot of time doing them again with my mom when she was ill. That’s where all these pics come from. And the fact is, I did enjoy putting them together. It’s actually pretty relaxing.
Are you taking a bit of a break?

Posting…I definitely am in an “intermittent” phase right now. Like I always say, I do enjoy reading as much – if not more – than posting. (I’m a bit of a puzzle myself…)😁
