Every now and then I leave a bookmark in its packaging. This is a good example. I think Lulu would look a bit naked, and a lot skinnier without it.
Not sure who I know brought me this back from Africa. But it’s part of my “Around the World” display now.
Book: Goliath’s Curse: The History and Future of Societal Collapse by Luke Kemp

It took me a while of looking to realize that the packaging wasn’t the bookmark! I fully agree, it probably wouldn’t be the same effect without the background stuff.
So when does Society collapse? I’d like to mark it on my calendar so I don’t forget to celebrate that day.

Yeah it’s just his head and skinny legs that you can see.
When? It’s happening man! Get your popcorn.

I don’t have time for a long term collapse, not even a month.
I’ll give it one day and if society hasn’t collapsed, I’m calling that author out for writing BS. Who has time or attention for long term collapses these days anyway?

Hmm. Unfortunately, taking the long view of history (which this book does), a fast collapse is one that still takes a couple of generations. Unless you live on top of a volcano.

Isn’t Canada just a seething cauldron of a psychological volcano?

I was going to say that a metaphorical volcano doesn’t count. I knew you were going to go there . . .
