Bookmarked! #142: Libraries are Forever

Ramona knows! Of course, sometimes the buildings aren’t forever, as a previous post showed. But the idea of the library keeps going.

Another little bookmark I picked up, almost certainly at a library, in the 1980s. No DVDs to borrow back then. You signed out films by the reel!

  1. I never read any of the Ramona books. When your 8 or 10, who wants to read a book about a GIRL? By the time I realized a good story is a good story, I was past the age to enjoy them anyway.

Huh, that made me realize, maybe I should read a bunch of Cleary’s stuff for my middle grade slot. I’ll have to think that over.

      • You need to register and enroll at BSU and get yourself a first rate book education then!
But hurry, as slots are being filled as we speak. Scholarships are available to students who qualify. (but you don’t, so don’t even try). We will gladly bill your credit card on a quarterly basis. If you choose that option, we will also, for no additional charge, throw in threatening phone calls by energetic bill collectors who are baying for your blood!

    • Ramona reads a lot.

I do know people who come out of the library with shopping bags stuffed with books. Usually it’s full of romances and mysteries. People read that stuff in bulk.
