A year ago I posted a pic of my struggling hydrangea. This year we’ve been getting a ton of rain so it’s doing better. Still has quite a way to go though!
I’m no gardener so they have to get by on their own mostly. Where this one is planted I have to thrown some water on it occasionally because it dries out a lot. But that’s it.
It must be too hot for these in Texas or something because I don’t think I’ve ever come across one. That’s quite a change from last year’s picture though!
Not like Nevada or Arizona, although West Texas is pretty close. In my area — DFW — it’s the summers that’d probably kill these plants. Fortunately it hasn’t been quite as hot this year as last and I think our local lake is actually above average at the moment. : -)

Do they take much upkeep or can you just let them be?

They need a lot of water and I think of Texas as being a dry place. Don’t know how true that is though.
