So two nights ago we had a whale of a storm here, with the eavestroughs overflowing and lightning flashing non-stop for about twenty minutes. The next morning I saw some trees had come down, including this on my next-door neighbour’s porch! Luckily the deck took most of the impact and no windows were broken and there were no holes in the roof. I’m always afraid something like that is going to happen to me as we have a lot of trees back there. Near miss!

I am not a fan of big trees near houses. I understand it looks nice, and in hot climates the shade they provide can make a big difference, but having your house destroyed, or partially destroyed seems a bit much to me.

You also have issues with the leaves having to be cleaned out of the eavestroughs constantly. That said, I do like seeing trees out my window and the shade does help keep the place cool.

We have enough trees around our condo complex for this to be a concern to me. One of the major reasons we have insurance is just for is were to happen…

I thought you were up on the third floor? It would need to be a pretty big tree to take you out wouldn’t it?
I live in condo too so insurance would cover any damage done to the building. Plus we had a guy come over the next day and cut the tree down and take everything away. So that was nice.

We have some very tall trees around that have been here probably since the late 80’s.

It was called in as an emergency because the tree was lying on top of the vent outlets and the AC unit. But I was still impressed at how speedy the service was.

I don’t pay for prime any more, because the stupid amazon drivers usually delivered ALL the packages to one mail room instead of to the appropriate building. After complaining several times and nothing changing, I quit paying amazon. Now I just use the free delivery over $35 and have to wait a week. I’m ok with the week. But the drivers still do a hit or miss with which building they deliver it to.

Yeah, I’ve never had Prime. I just get regular shipping and that’s fast enough for me.

We had prime for the video, but once I found tubi and prime started having ads anyway, I figured why pay for subpar service and ads, when I could get both for free! 😀

I’ve got a brother who lives in East Texas so…lots of trees. The house has never fallen prey, but the shed has and the fences repeatedly. Kind of goes back and forth whether he has to call a guy or he can do it himself with a chainsaw.

Yeah, there’s only one tree that I think could really damage my place if it landed on me. And it’s not on my property but on the other side of a fence so I couldn’t do anything about it if I wanted to. Overall, these sort of accidents don’t happen that often though.
