Saw this guy yesterday morning just enjoying the wide open spaces before all the people show up. It’s my favourite time of the day too! Once I took his picture he stood up and walked away, looking annoyed. (You can click on the pic to make it bigger.)

Ohhhh, I hate seagulls. Rats with wings!

Even Jonathan Livingston? He just wanted to fly higher than any of the other gulls . . .

You didn’t have that crumby paperback in your house in the ’70s?? I thought everyone did. Thing sold millions of copies.

Oh, I know, I saw it everywhere. I just assumed it was a colorful name; I didn’t realize it was actually referring to a bird.
My parents didn’t read that sort of thing. Although they did have a children’s book by Holling Clancy Holling called Seabird that stands even today as a favorite book of one of my brothers. I guess he monopolized it because I don’t remember it at all myself.

Ohhh I love seagulls! Kings of the sky in these parts.

Yeah I imagine you must have a lot of them. I don’t mind them though they can be noisy.

I like seeing them at the coast wheeling around in the sky. I think they must be the only birds who fly for the love of it, the rest just go places.

I think they’re looking for people who drop their fries or pizza slices.

Yes they do. And shopping areas where people sit outside and eat pasties. But I still like to see them flying ๐. You donโt get that with blutits etc, they just zoom from one place to another.

He’s really the dumb one of the flock. Saw the ice and the stormy-looking parking lot and thought it was a lake.

There were a couple of others sitting just about ten feet away! If he’d been alone I might have felt worried.
