I think it was a great idea! I think you’d have a lot of young people now who wouldn’t have any idea what a library card is.

Do you remember the wooden chests with all the little sliding doors full of cards to look things up in? That feels like 200 years ago now.

I think you might be thinking of The Word in South Shields, as I haven’t been to Newcastle Library. However Newcastle does have the lit & phil, which looks amazing https://www.litandphil.org.uk/
but I haven’t been there yet.

Well, some communities have to make do with a shipping container that sells gas-station snacks along with all the other goodies. But most libraries are pretty great.
