The Cult of Trump: A Leading Cult Expert Explains How the President Uses Mind Control
By Steven Hassan
Page I bailed on: 129
Verdict: It’s not bad for what it is. The author is a former Moonie who was deprogrammed and he draws on that experience as well as his subsequent work in the field to look at Trump as a cult phenomenon. He makes a number of valid points, though I think there are limits to how useful such a lens is. Basic propaganda paradigms probably work better. In any event, I had to quit because it was getting repetitive. Plus, this is the sort of book I pick up to learn something from and I didn’t feel that was happening.
I’m getting DNF mixed up with DWF…

They’re pretty much useless. At least around here. May be better in your green and pleasant land.

AH well, I suppose there’s a lot ofbooks being written on Trump so there’ll be something somewhere more enlightening.

And I’ve read most of them. There’s nothing wrong with this, but I thought the ground could have been covered in a decent-length magazine article and I still wasn’t entirely buying into the premise of Trump being a cult leader. There’s a bit of that, but I think it has more to do with the media and general zeitgeist.

Yes, cult doesn’t really cover it.

Id’ say Booky if I was following the madman theory. There aren’t a lot of attractive candidates, from where I’m sitting. But we have our own problems in Canada. You have anybody running Scotland yet or is the job still open?
