Another mystery bookmark. I don’t know when I got this, or where, or from whom. I’m pretty sure there was some kind of event marking 50 years of relations between Canada and Indonesia and they were handing them out. And it is very nice. I’m not sure what they’re made of or what they represent though. More mysteries.
Book: Demokrasi: Indonesia in the 21st Century by Hamish McDonald

It looks old, but really nice.

Yeah I’m not sure if it’s that old. Also not sure what it’s made of. Oh well. Lots of bookmarks in my collection that are mysteries!

I’m not sure I’m such a big fan of the clear part. It just seems wrong for some reason.

I’m not sure what that is. I don’t think it’s plastic. I think it goes well with the rest of the bookmark so I don’t mind it.

Have you showcased clear ones before? Maybe I’m just blocking it out of my memory 😀

There was the stained glass window one a while back. Probably others too but I can’t remember. I can’t even remember now if I’m posting a bookmark I’ve already done.

Better clear out some space for that Canada-EU bookmark that Carney’s dreaming about.

I’d buy one of those!
I don’t know what kind of a deal he’s thinking of, but Carney is playing smart politics. Just a couple of days ago one of Canada’s former prime ministers, a hard, hard-right guy who in many ways, it’s been argued, provided a model for Trump’s divisive style and who was a big voice for closer ties with the U.S., came out and said that he supported what Carney was doing and that Canada had to move away from the U.S. It was pretty surprising to everyone, but Trump has really made it impossible to do anything else.
It’s not good for us, or anyone. But at this point there are no other options.

Well, you can have fun with all that European oversight. Sounds like a nightmare to me.

I think he’s said he’s not looking for that sort of a deal. He’s been big on de-regulating everything in Canada so far.
Regulation cuts both ways. It can be a burden, but when you need it it really helps. Personally I’d be regulating things like crypto and gambling out the yazoo. But that’s me.
