Well, they are certainly coming along. But they are being rented out to students and I thought they were listed as being ready to move into by September 1. Which is only a week away. They don’t look like they’re a week away from having people living in them. So I don’t know how that works. I hope they don’t try to finish them in a rush. A man in a rush makes mistakes.

Which makes me wonder what happens to the students who signed leases. The company probably has to find them other accomodations.

My guess is the builders and contractors had a date to finish by with penalty clauses. So their profits will eat it.
But yeah, not sure how the students will deal with it all 🙂

Once the hard part’s done it’s amazing how fast they can go. That’s how it always seems to me when I see this sort of thing. Or it may be just because by then I’ve lost interest and it just *seems* to go much faster.

No they do speed up at the end. But I think there’s still too much work to do, especially inside from what I can see. But we’ll see what it’s like when school starts.

Yeah, there’s not going to be a lot of parking space. But students these days don’t drive as much. Young people actually.

Here’s hoping the focus stays solely on constructing everything the right way, and not the easy way. It does look like it will be tough to make that “due date.”

I always hate when I have a job I’ve hired people for and it’s a rush because it’s a Friday before a long weekend or something. I have to keep telling them to take their time and don’t rush it. People get sloppy when they’re trying to get something done fast.

Well when I was at university I remember a big block of student flats still being under construction when they started moving in. I think they knocked the price down a bit for the ones who had gone there under the promise it would be finished.
