Bookmarked! #129: Book Pile

A very special bookmark this week from the fabulous Fraggle! It’s a handpainted comic scene with a feline taking a catnap on top of a pile of books (which I’ve reviewed). Not a very comfortable perch for that kitty, but they always seem to make do.

  1. Yeah, go ahead, now’s your chance — rub her belly!

Meanwhile, I’m trying to imagine a subject I would be less interested in than reality TV. And here *you* are, Mr. No TV and all……..

    • I haven’t started in on that book yet but it looks interesting! I’d like to think reality TV is mostly dead, as TV itself has largely been replaced by YouTube, but when I go to the gym I still see some stupid show with a bunch of young people living together and sleeping around. I don’t know what the name of it is but I can feel it killing my brain a little more every minute it’s on.

      • It doesn’t seem almost dead to me. It’s what magazines used to be, ubiquitous in waiting rooms and lobbies. And since I *do* watch TV I see ads for the things all the time. They’re evidently cheap as hell to produce. I *wish* they would die, but I don’t see it happening any time soon. (And isn’t YouTube, with all it’s Mr. Beasts, just reality TV anyway?)

      • I didn’t even know who Mr. Beast was until recently. Still never seen any of his shows but isn’t he more like a game show format? I think of YouTube as mostly being podcasts, but that’s because they’re what I watch. I don’t know if it’s as stuck on reality shows. The only TV I watch is what’s on at the gym and I don’t see that many reality shows, but I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s still lots of it out there. They sort of took over from scripted TV because they’re so much cheaper to produce.
