I’ve posted panda bookmarks before (see here and here), but this is a special one. Not because it comes from the Toronto Zoo but because it’s made, as the back of it proudly proclaims, “with real poo!” Or, at more length, it’s a “recycled and odorless paper product made from panda poo!” The company that does this says “We take the ‘oo” out of ‘poo’!”
Book: Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen

That’s clever! Doesn’t seem to have caught on though.

They do have a line of poo-paper products, but yeah they’re novelties.

I don’t care how recycled, nothing like that would ever touch my paper books OR my hands…

In the grand cosmic scheme of things we’re all recycled material.

Oh, I don’t mind the individual atoms or even molecules, but wholesale poo is just too much…

Yeah, it’s definitely got that look. I can feel it between my fingers from here!
By the way, how’s the weather up there? While the Stars were stomping the Canadiens I happened to notice it was snowing in Montreal.

It has a nice texture!
We got our first snow this week. It’s been cold. Supposed to warm up on the weekend but then be back cold again. It’s that time of year!

I was able to walk my dog at 6 this morning without even a light jacket. Hope springs eternal and I am hoping it will stay this way for another 4 months.

You guys don’t get much snow where you live do you?

Some, but not much. A favorite memory, though, is of going out into a snowstorm a few years ago looking for firewood and coming back, taking my shoes off and propping my feet on the hearth — and seeing actual steam rising from my socks. Made me feel very Artic Explorer!

Few things more satisfying than a wood fire in the winter. Electric or gas just aren’t the same.
