What is this? You mind explaining, because I can’t figure out what is going on in that picture except there are spaces with green and gray squares with letters. I’m guessing you have to fill in some of them by guessing? What are the rules? Time limits?
Inquiring minds want to know! (and so does GI Joe)
Yeah, you try to guess a word and you get six guesses. Grey means that letter isn’t in the word. If you get a letter right but in the wrong place it shows as yellow. If it’s right AND in the right place then it’s green. So I knew I had a word that began with TA and ended with Y early on but it took a while to guess.
It’s a time-waster game that’s popular. Called Wordle or Wordly.
I just watched it this past sunday, so my memories are fresh. I liked it, a lot.
It was actually coherent and made sense, in universe.
And everybody dies. I was quite happy with that 😀
There is family drama, so that wasn’t as much fun, but the main character was a decent girl and I liked her overall.
In terms of comparing it to the others, I think it rates just below 5 and well above 3and4. I’d have to watch 1and2 again to see how it weighs up against them, but it felt like a better made movie. It helps having adults involved in the cast so it’s not just a bunch of asshole teens getting their just desserts…
I have heard of Wordle as people go around boasting about their scores, or at least they used to, don’t hear about it so much anymore, well except today 😁
Played this a few times, but as I recall it required a bookmark to access, so I eventually gave up. (You would not believe how lazy I can be!) Still play the license plate game. My favorite, and I’ve got a picture somewhere on my phone, was when I pulled into a parking space right next to another car and realized I had LZD and LPS together. : -)
Hm. I don’t know the license plate game. I think this version of the word game is called worldly and it just pops up on my phone as a favourite. But to be honest I don’t play it much. I just thought this particular round was funny because I thought tasty, tacky, and tawny were all better guesses than taffy.
Yeah, this was back when it first came out and I think you had to go to the Washington Post or whoever it was that was publishing it at the time. I’m sure it’s an app now.
The license plate game is simply taking the letters on a plate and making a word from them, using the same sequence. The shorter the word (i.e., the fewer letters you have to add to make it a word), the higher your “score.” It was a traveling game back in the days before phones and such; something to do as you’re tooling down the highway for hours on end.

Ahhh, wordle. I’ve heard of that. Glad you’re stretching your brain 😀

Stretching it like taffy! And now it’s getting stretched pretty thin indeed.

better than letting it rot into a mush pile of goo.
Speaking of goo, when will FD: Bloodlines be going up?

Haven’t seen it yet! Library doesn’t have it and in fact they don’t even seem to have it on order. So it might be a while.
What did you think of it?

I’m looking forward to it. Which is usually a bad sign, but fingers crossed.

I don’t play it much. Like I say it’s a time waster. But if you’re stuck with a small chunk of time to waste it does the trick!

This sounds like a Canadian game show that ran in the late ’80s called Bumper Stumpers.
