A new year

No looking back, and not much looking forward on this New Year’s Day.

Over the past year I spent a lot more time on this site, adding a bunch of semi-regular features like showcasing my bookmark collection, doing puzzles, and posting thoughts on true crime, mysteries, and comic books. I’ve been spending less time watching movies at Alex on Film and reviewing other books at Good Reports, and that’s likely going to continue for most of 2025. There have been two big time-killers that have been working against me: renovations I’m doing and a legal squabble I was forced into. Both will be finished up sometime next year, but I wouldn’t want to say when. Until I’m clear of those two hurdles though updates are likely to continue on a reduced schedule.

But of course you never can tell what life has in store for you. You can’t take anything for granted, so be thankful for what you have.

Thanks to everyone who has dropped by any of my sites over the past year. I hope you’ll stick around and maybe find something worth your while moving forward!

  1. Oh man, the legal stuff is still sticking around? I’m very sorry to hear that 😦

On the plus side, I didn’t win the billion dollar megamillions lottery last week, so at least you don’t have to worry about me getting all snobby on you and sniffing at you when you don’t raise your pinky while drinking your tea. That’s always a big plus, right? 😉

Do you think you’ll ever combine your blogs for ease of management, or do you have enough “weight” that you will need to keep them separate?

    • Legal matters are very slow to resolve. Especially when one side has an interest in dragging things out as long as possible. Fingers crossed I can get it settled in January. But I’m not counting on it. In which case it will be several more months. But I’m resolved.

I was thinking about you winning that megamillions. I know you’d remember all of us little people.

Don’t think I’ll ever combine the blogs, but you never know. More likely to just retire.

      • If I had won, you and Fraggle and Eddie (despite himself) would have gotten a chunk of under the table change 😀
Speaking of Eddie, has he contacted you at all? I don’t want to act like he never existed, but it’s almost like he’s dead or something. It’s a very odd place for me.

I doubt I’ll ever choose to retire from blogging. I suspect the most likely outcome is getting banned by WP for spurious reasons. Not sure I could start all over elsewhere.

      • I think Eddie is enjoying a quieter life not dealing with what were a lot of vexatious comments. His last post said the comments were switched off for good and I think he’s feeling in a better place.

Any of the platforms can ban us for any reasons they want, or no reason at all, at anytime. It’s annoying.

      • Good to know. I had emailed him asking if comments were gone for good and he never replied back, so I took that as a yes, but a confirmation is good.

It is annoying. Well, here’s to some good things happening in 2025, even if Canada is going to be our 51st state 😉 hahahahahaa
