Road trip 2

This is the Guelph train station. Most train stations in Ontario have the same sort of look. I find it very peaceful. You almost expect a steam engine to pull up on the tracks outside. But given how little train service there is the building itself is always empty. There isn’t even anyone working there, and for some reason all the bathrooms are kept locked.

  1. How do you buy a ticket if no one works there? How do you go to the loo? What if you fall over and hurt yourself? How would you know if the train is go in to be late? It doesn’t sound user friendly at all.

    • You have to buy tickets online in advance. There are some train stations where you can still buy tickets at the wicket but not the smaller ones. The loo you can forget about. Which is weird because it’s a small building and they had four of them but they were all locked. Which I guess makes sense because there’s nobody there. If you fall over you can yell for help. There’s a screen that shows arrival times.

All questions answered! No, it’s not user friendly. And they’re notorious for delays. We really need better rail service but it’s something people just talk about without anything being done.
