These are oversize examples of paperclip bookmarks, which tends to be a cutesy-novelty style. I’ve never actually used a regular office paperclip as a bookmark but I’ve seen people who have. I guess they’re fit for purpose, but they’re not easy on the pages.

Yeah, that’s part of the novelty angle. But I have bigger paperclip bookmarks! They can be kind of silly.

I have never thought of using a paperclip as a bookmark. Seems like it would tear up the page pretty good 😦

Yeah, they tend to do a number on books. Not so much tearing as crinkling the pages. Not for me.
