Off to China again for a set of delicate bookmarks from the Summer Palace. I’ve never been to China, but I know a lot of people who are either from there or have visited. And they bring me back bookmarks! See here for some nice ones from the Beijing Opera.
Book: China After Mao: The Rise of a Superpower by Frank Dikötter

They look quite fragile, but lovely.

Yes, very thin. I have other bookmarks from China and they’re the same. Very delicate.

I had a friend translate it for me, so your expertise isn’t required at this point. I’ll keep you in mind though moving forward as your skill as a land surveyor/Chinese translator is widely acknowledged.

I am here for you man. Ready to chop down a tree, shoot a ground hog or translate that deadly insult from your chinese friend.
