Once the plows have built up these piles of snow in parking lots I always wonder how long they’ll last. We’ve had a fair bit of snow this winter, with more on the way, so I suspect these will hang around a while. I walk past the top one every day so I’ll try and report back. I suspect some of it will still be there well into April.

They last a long time even down here — and after the days have returned to well above freezing. Of course our snow metabolism is much higher than yours (thankfully) so our “long time” wouldn’t mean much to you.
Hey, how come your street signs aren’t bilingual?

Yeah, there’s going to be a little dirty pile of snow for quite a bit I’m sure. A lot depends on how much rain we get once it starts warming up. That’s what really takes it down.
It’s only cereal boxes that have to be bilingual!

and try working in it all day, with it being up to your knees, everywhere. Good times

Have you tried snowshoes? They never worked that well for me. You must have some big snow mountains now!

Yep, we have snow shoes. BUT, it is real cost analysis about using them. You can’t wear them to set up the equipment, so there is a constant taking on/off of them and that is a real pain. I mainly use them when we’re going to be doing a lot of walking that day and not using the equipment.
Yep, the parking lots of the big box stores have the massive piles. They have to be close to 20ft high now.

With amounts like that, our parking lot piles usually last until mid to late march. But as you and Brian mentioned, rain, not warmth, is the real snow killer π

I’ll post some updates when they start to go down. But that won’t be for a while.
