Was out walking yesterday when I saw this tall fellow. St. Patrick’s Day was a couple of weeks ago and it doesn’t look like he’s aged well. It might be time to bring him in soon.
I’ve seen a couple of those out and about. They take a LOT of work to setup and take down, so I suspect the people figure it’s easier to leave up year round.
I will say, that green looks pretty tacky on it though…
See, that is even tackier. But people who put up 8-10ft skeletons in their yards aren’t the kind of people who are concerned about if something is tacky or not.
I remember meeting one fellow out on my early morning walks in the country who’d get a far away look in his eyes as he’d say “3 am . . . the very best time of the day.”
They have stakes around in the feet area. Plus, some I’ve seen have wires from the waist or shoulders to help stabilize it. Kind of like guy wires on a utility pole 😀

Maybe they’ll leave him up year round. He’s a gimme for Halloween. Put a Santa suit on him for Christmas. Give him a basket and bunny ears for Easter.

Yeah, they’ve got the tack covered.
Off to do my morning errands before the sun comes up! The only way to live.

Wonder how they got it fixed to stand up.

Must have some solid rails in the legs. I think they’d have to be pounded in to the ground a bit.

They must be anchored pretty solid. And his big hat must be screwed on tight. Can’t imagine that staying on his head in a strong wind.
