I had an earlier Wildlife post of a skunk. I’m quite proud of that post, as skunks are not the easiest critters to get a picture of. I got lucky with this guy though, as I was out walking early in the morning and saw a pair of skunks (probably up to no good) just walking down the sidewalk together. When they saw me they split up, and this one went down a sloped driveway. When he got to the bottom he was faced with a steep climb.
He had a lot of trouble, which is what gave me the time to get my phone out and take his picture.
Really, he kept climbing up part of the way and then sliding back down.
Finally he seemed to get the hang of it.
Then off to do more skunky things. I suspect making baby skunks. Glad this wasn’t my driveway or backyard.

Pepe Le Pew and Pink Panther were my favourite cartoons when I was a kid, I must have had a thing for P’s. Didn’t realise you are still having snowmageddon.

Weather goes up and down. Plus 7 and raining all day today. But last week we did have snow. Global weirding.

I thought skunks hibernated like squirrels. Not like bears with a deep sleep, but a lethargic, stay in the burrow and doze the winter away kind of thing.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want a skunk hanging out around my place either.

I see skunks out a bit in the winter. Like you say, maybe just not as active. I see squirrels all winter staying really active.
I don’t mind seeing skunks if I’m out for a walk, but hate if they’re around where I live. One spray and that stink can hang around your house for days.

I laughed at the one where the line painters had just painted over the dead skunk. Bunch of lazy assed barstards, hahahahaha.
