As earlier reported, I attended the annual Friends of the Guelph Public Library Book Sale this past weekend. In preparation, I made sure to check out the sale’s FAQ page online. Because I’m a man of a certain age and was going to have to spend quite a bit of time on a bus going there and coming back, it seemed prudent to see if there were any facilities at the location. What I found was this. So I take it the answer is Yes. But no.

🤣 tempted to ask how you coped, but thought better of it.

I managed, heroically.

They they had washrooms, but they were inaccessible. In theory, that’s true of everywhere. Washrooms will always exist, but some of them will always be inaccessible from where you are.

Accessible, but not available . . .

So is “handicap” now a verboten word? Cause it seems like they just left that word out…

I think they were having a lot of trouble finding the right words here.

If they had written “Yes. But handicap accessible washrooms are not available.” It would make sense to me.
Regular bathrooms are available for use, but they don’t have the extra wide ones with arm bars for wheelchair people.

Yeah, but I don’t think they meant handicap washrooms. My interpretation is that they were saying “Yes there are washrooms at this location, but you can’t use them.” Because they were just renting the space.

Gotcha.
So was that the case?

My guess. I was just out in the warehouse space and I didn’t see any signs to washrooms posted.

Well, all I know is that Lois Lane would have investigated this story to the end
I hope you can live with yourself knowing you let Lois down…

There’s a long list of people I’ve let down. Lois is at the back of the line.
